| | Overview: | | The CApENZ Taranaki HSE Centre has been established by regional industry and ACC to raise the standards of HSE within the entire community of Taranaki. Operated by the Centre of Applied Engineering (CApENZ) the Centre will deliver NZQA accredited one day basic safety awareness courses. Tailored courses will be available on request. |

| | How It Works: | The Centre delivers training through practical interactive displays: - Participation in exercises
- Hands on with facilitated direction
- Visual, audio, touch facilities with practical displays of equipment and hazards
- Team discussion, debate, electronic questionnaire / traffic light
Displays are relevant to the hazards that may be encountered on site. Each display requires tasks to be completed before moving to the next section. There are a range of themes and information for each activity / display: - Related law / regulation / guidelines
- Demonstration equipment & working environment
- Demonstration of poor / inadequate set up alongside the right set up.
- "Hall of Horrors" (when it goes wrong) picture gallery of injuries and damage
- Interactive electronic questionnaire boards to stimulate discussion and ensure learning.
- Training materials to guide discussion and explore outcomes
